Anyone else notice this? Just thought I bring it up... thx for a great board!
-
Me 2.
thought it was my bad, but nice to hear that im not the only one...
:(
Ron.

I haven't been getting them for months and months now.
-
Many ISP's block my server because it is a shared server, i need to get some Ip's to fix that.
Most importantly though, spam filters have gotten so tight, it is very difficult for any legit forum to pass them all. Just being a forum email gets a ton of them blocked.
-
Well, heck, I'm getting Bimmerforums and R3V notifications. If they'll let that crap through.... :)
-
I'm not receiving notifications either :(

Could you use a different smtp server for outgoing notifications thats not blocked by as many ISP's?

You got one?
It is not like they grow on trees.
-
Just an idea.
Yes, I do have access to one if you want to test it out sometime.
-
i haven't either.. and i have also checked my spam box and nothing there.. i'm using a gmail account..
-
I tried using a different one, it did not help.
Seems almost anything forum related is blocked no matter where it comes from there days.

It's weird, because I get notifications from R3V all the time, and I get PM notifications from there AND from here; I just don't get thread updates from here at all.
-
still nothing

whoa, there's alot of responses... too bad there wasn't any email notifica-- wait a second... ;)
I deal with this all the time with my clients. First of all, mail.m42club.com resolves to 66.226.73.72, which is blacklisted on several RBLs; you're pretty much hosed if you stick with that hosting provider unless you setup a smarthost somewhere, like your ISP, and I think alot of people are using Google Apps' mail servers as a smarthost too as they don't have any send limitations.
After you find a happy mail server to send out your mail for you, you can then setup SPF records to tell the world that "m42club.com has authorized this IP range to send mail on it's behalf".

Doh, the standard (free) version doesn't support this, but the Premier does, at $50/user annually (although aliases are free, so you may only need one email address).
I'm thinking you should switch hosting providers, honestly: if they're not going to do anything about the blacklisting (and they've been listed on one list or another since Jan. 2008!), then they don't deserve your business.

Because the blocked IP address is still in the email header after you relay, your only option is to switch hosting providers all together.
