Title: front cover oil leak- what else should i do?
Post by: NÜR-SPEC on November 20, 2007, 10:44:10 PM
i'm very nervous about my oil pan bolts falling out and i have a few oil leaks.  so, i was going to replace the upper and lower oil pan gaskets and use new bolts with threadlock to avoid and catastrophies.  after cleaning off all the crud from the block, it looks like the worst leak is coming from front cover behind the crank pulley.  while i've got it off to replace the gasket, what else can i replace for preventative maintanence?  i was thinking the lower chain guides?  anyone done them before?  how involved is it?

Maybe it's the crankshaft seal. A lot easier than all those gaskets.
