Title: Stroker Options..
Post by: big kris on November 03, 2007, 09:41:32 AM
Hi all, I'm fairly new to BMW's (3 months) and I'm looking for some information for when I come to rebuild my engine. I would like to retain the M42 block, but aiming for a higher displacement. I know a lot of people are getting 2.1 litres so this is what I will aim for!

What length do the rods have to be if I use M3 pistons and an M47 crank? Would an M42 block be able to accomodate M3 Evo pistons or can the block not be bored to accomodate?

Any thoughts or information welcome! :D

Kris

Kris, I replied to you on e36coupe, be sure in your posts to be clear what you mean - you mean UK M3 EVO, i.e. euro s50b32 to US guys, US M3 is not the same as UK, and has different pistons. pin height on euro s50b32 pistons isn't really ideal, also small end dia. is wrong. just buy custom parts, much more sensible in the end.
