How many people would be interested in a Catcams GB for the M42/M44 engine? I can order them but would need a good sized order to make the shipping worthwhile. In general, they'll run about 30% below Schrick cam costs, and I can probably get them a bit cheaper.
-
i may have some interest. about how much though, realistically??
-
yeah how much and what profiles available?
-
Here is a link to a listing of the cams that would be available for the M42.

I'm getting more info on pricing. When I ran the last GB on CatCams for the M20, they were $210 versus the $320 price, so you're probably looking at somewhere around $620 for the set, but that's a guestimate since I'll be dealing directly whereas last time I had a distributor middleman who absorbed some of the costs.
-
i want a new inlet cam alone for my engine, already have the exhaust setup i want. Would be interested in a catcam, esp if could be shipped direct to UK from belgium or wherever they are, thus avoiding US import tax!
-
how much of a difference would be made with the sport set up? i have a stock m42 with a full exhaust. its my dally driver so i would be best with the sport?
-
So these wouldn't work for the e36 m42? What are the "custom parts" needed for the more aggressive cams?
-
I can get the e36 cams too. I'm awaiting a more comprehensive listing since I'll probably just to a full GB for all models.
-
can you give me some specs of all cams that they make for M44, as you made for M42s up?
I checked their homepage, but there is nothing about M44s:confused:
thank you
-
Any idea on power gains?
-
I'm still keen for a single cam (inlet) as long as they can do the spec i want, price seems ok even if it has to go via the states and back and incur tax (although of course would be better if not).
-
Still waiting to hear back on pricing since I've expanded my normal range of cams so I'll have to re-evaluate costs to make sure shipping from Belgium can be absorbed. I'll let everyone know once I finalize pricing. The cams would come through the US before going anywhere else.
-
I'd be interested once price is ironed out.
-
Here are the prices thus far. I'm trying to get things lower but the exchange rate is horrible. If you're not in the US, you might as well just buy them direct - likely would be cheaper given the $1.46 conversion rate right now.

I'm interested in a set, but need some guidance on the proper cam. Looking for a M42 set. I'd also like details on the springs. Are they single "bee hive", doubles, or stock?
Rob
PS. Please PM me as I don't get thread updates from this board.
-
I have one pretty definite participant, myself, and would like to find at least 2 others to pitch in to make this feasible. 5 orders of cams with springs will probably fill a shipment, which would help subsidize some of the shipping from Belgium so if you're definitely able to participate in this, let me know.
-
I now have 3 participants - need 2 more to make an initial order, after which I'd need an additional 5 people. Anyone?
-
If anyone wants in on this, please email me at groupbuy@flyingbrickperformance.com. I'm going to consolidate some of the final discussions with people via central email to eliminate problems or slow responses.
-
Would you please tell me why I should buy a valve from you when it is the same price on flyingbrickperformance website? And also if you're working for them I would like to let you know that I'm very dissapointed with my last purchase from the website, I ordered SS brake lines on 27th of November, and I saw that the money were taken on 27th but the SS kit wasn't shipped until 5th of December!
-
Are the 269 cams available for this? It says on the site that that is the largest hydro cams they offer. Would I need new springs to run it?
-
nvm, it says on the description oem equipment will work. How much for the set?

The price for the set is listed in an earlier response.
This is moving pretty slow - having a hard time getting more than a couple people who are serious.
-
If you could include an m20 cam in there w/springs pm me and let me know.
-
any idea on gains?
-
would love to know if the gains are worth it,269degrees and revving past 7k,would i need valve springs and solid lifters too?
