Title: Common Block & Head Failure Points
Post by: DipStick on October 27, 2007, 01:39:48 PM
Just tore down an overheated m42 out of my junk-yard car.  The HG was blown, and I was really expecting to see either the block or the head cracked, but I cannot find anything.  Are there particular areas where this head and block tend to crack due to overheating?  Any insight will be appreciated!

Obvious place is usually around exhaust ports.

The head might have just warped and not cracked.
