Title: Air Flow Meter differences
Post by: Ramblin MAn on October 23, 2007, 11:13:40 PM
I pulled an AFM from a junkyard m42. It seems to work fine but it's made in France and while two others I have say "105" in an oval box on the top of the case, this one says "955" and is made in France, not Germany. Apperance is the same and it plugged right in. Works better than the "adjustable" one I got from ebay, at least standing still. I've got year old gas in the car and can't decide if old degraded octane gas is causing my pinging or if its the "955" afm.

whoa fast response.  i would say if its working do a visual and compare the inside of it to your other two.  if its lookin cleaner, go with that one.  it prolly is a newer one

Pinging is probably the gas. The fuel filter may also be gummed up, so the engine is running lean.
