Hello!

I live in Tacoma Washington (formerly Olympia). I've recently inherited a '91 318i  (red w/ tan vinyl) from my Ma.

I've actually wanted this car for almost ten years, as the person who owned it before my mom lived across the street from my high school. One day my mom went shopping for a car without my knowledge, and came home with it totally by surprise. She found it at a Ford dealership, of all places, and thought it was so cute that she payed $8k for it.

It was in absolute PERFECT shape when she bought it. Unfortunately the clear coat is coming off in places, and the right-front fender needs to be replaced (at least it's still red). The interior is flawless except for a few stains, and the motor  looks sweeeeeeeeeet

This is basically my dream car. I drove a few 2002's and a Bavaria in the meantime (also a '79 corolla), but I've always been waiting for her to drop this car in favor of something new. Now that it's happened, I'm happier than a pig in sh*t. I could think of a few high dollar rides I would rather own, but honestly for less than $10k this is the bees knees.

Right now I'm just concerned with fixing what's broken, and I really don't have any big aspirations as far as future modifications. My friend owns a BMW shop, so I'm pretty much set. I learned a lot from running my 2002, and love the fact that every advancement displayed in the E30 chassis is something I wouldn't necessarily want to do without.

The M42 motor is an absolute gem. This car is the balls!

I actually don't have a digital camera, and probably won't be able to afford one for a while.

Just imagine a red 318i sedan w/ the original hub caps and tan interior. Here's some pics of my old rides

bavarias are, if anything, more underrated than the M42 318is

that car made me feel like a hero drifting around in the snow. Long wheelbase and skinny tires! Saved my life once as well.

But then I drove a 2002 again and had to have one. The brown car looks rough but I did a lot to it. It's got a five-speed and reasonably fresh motor. I did the suspension and added some bottle caps.

Those bottle caps really look great on an '02, but I think they date the E30 (make it look old). They're really weak wheels too, anything is stronger! I'll keep the hubcaps on my new car for now, as I park it on the street.

Down the road, who knows. I really want some of these

I don't know who took this picture, but I thought I'd share it. Makes good wallpaper.

This is basically my car (w/out the seats I guess)

I like your taste in vehicles. I've been into 02's for years and a few friends kept telling me how much the e30 m42 combo felt like the spiritual successor to the 02. They were right on the money with that comparison in my opinion. I'm just down the road a piece in Lakewood so feel free to give me a shout if you need a hand sometime.

heh, you've got a 924s? Isn't that the 924 w/ the 944 drivetrain? I've driven a 944 and must say that if I had enough money to start collecting I'd definitely own one.

i thought about those wheels too but the price is absurd!  and i think weaves look better on e30s anyway.
