Title: M20 auto 325e flywheel conversion?
Post by: gearheadE30 on October 02, 2007, 03:15:41 PM
Any idea if the flywheel from a 325e auto would work in the conversion? I don't think it will, but does anyone know for sure?

There is two kind on the 325e, single and dual mass. But why change it? it is even heavier than the is wheel.

Dude.. its an automatic, and as such there is no friction surface. A torque converter bolts to it. Its a plate to hold the ring gear, nothing more.

Ok, that's what I thought but then a few people on bf.c told me that it fit. Then I asked the guy if it would work, and he said a clutch would bolt up perfectly. Go figure...

Thanks.
