Can anyone compare / contrast the Bilstein Touring vs the HD?  Anyone sampled both?

The Tourings are a little firmer than the Sachs/Boge OEM shocks. The HD's are stiff, especially in rebound. I've never actually rode in E30's with the same springs and both shocks as people tend to use the HD's with stiffer than OEM springs. I've ridden in and drove an E30 with stiff (300# front) springs and OEM shocks.  Granted, they were worn out and the stiff springs sort of broke the camel's back. It bounced and hopped like a Civic riding on the bump stops.
Price in this case reflects damping ability. Not always true.

I've also heard that HD's raise your car.

If that were true, it would be WRC time!
