So it has been on/flashing for a while now (ever since I replaced the bulb for my CEL). How do I reset the SRS computer? The light is annoying!
-
I hooked mine up to the OBD macine and reset all the codes
-
oh charlie... you can't just throw that out there and not expect us to hassle you for more details... write up more info after the easter bunny leaves!

See, as I understood it, the OBD and SRS systems are independent of each other.
Of course, I've been known to be wrong upon occasion, and would happily admit the error of ways, but I've not heard of anyone successfully resetting the SRS indicator before.
I just yanked the SRS bulb out. You could also cover the inside of the indicator cover with electrical tape.

Hmmm, I will dig up my reset tool & see what I can do. I also thought the 2 systems were independent, but who knows.

Yep- I been down that road. The "reset tool" for e30 cars does NOT affect the srs system. If everything is connected properly, it SHOULD go out- which is why I disconnected mine under the steering wheel. I COULD NOT figure out what was wrong, but all I read said this-reconnect the battery with the key in the ignition ( not ON though), then switch the key on, the liight will flash then "if the system is functioning correctly the light will 'extinguish"". So I had to disconnect mine. I wish it was functioning but it's not right now.

i have the same poblem, been blinking strong for a year now
-
I have the same problem but thats cuz I changed my steering wheel to a non airbag wheel.
-
Well I don't know anything about the SRS being linked to the OBD system but when I hooked up my car to the OBD machine and I reset the codes, the SRS light stoped flashing. AND it has never come back on. You could always just take out the bulb though.

The OBD reset tool didn't work on my SRS light a few months ago. I took the panel out and replaced it with the full check panel and left it that way. I ddn't even cut the wires or anything, just left it the way it was w/ no lights or anything.
