Title: Stevohill
Post by: stevohill on July 21, 2007, 08:21:05 PM
Well I created a member thread before but instead of just editing the old one I just decided to start a new one. My car has gone through quite a bit of changes in the time since then. Instead of rambling on about whatever, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

What it looked like a year ago

So thats about it. Any questions, comments, or concerns...shoot them my way. And yes I know my rockers need to be repainted :)

Hey that is one very nice and clean iS!  It looks great!  I love the red and black theme with the wheels and how you've left the front lower spoiler in body colour!  Nice work!

Do you have any interior pics by any chance?

Pete

Awesome makeover! I really like what you did with the ronals.

Only thing I would recommend is some ellipsoids.

What exhaust do you have on it?

BTW looks really good.
Title: Nice.

I thought you were gonna sell it?...

I really like what you did. Looks clean. One thing I personally dislike are the painted Ronals. LS's look so beautifull in their original state.

Not hating, just telling you my honest opinion. Hope you understand.

:D

Interior, taken a while back, but only difference now is I've vacuumed my floor :) and I have an alternative UUC shiftknob that is not brushed aluminum. Because in AZ it turns into a ball of liquid hot magma during the days. I plan on picking up some new floormats cause these ones just aren't cutting it anymore.

Smoked smilies are on my list of things to purchase

exhaust is actually just a muffler shop glasspack. But it's not one of the cheapy $15 autozone specials.

You must be thinking of someone else, because I've never considered selling my car. I agree, Ronals look great in silver but these left the factory this color and are a fairly rare option. And as previously stated, it goes great with the red/black theme.

Like I said, already on the parts to buy list. I've already gone the blacked out kidneys look, but I came back to chrome because I love the way it looks and it's signature BMW. They also go good with the Ronals brushed lip.

not in the least, it's the z4 3.0 shift lever.

How do you like that lever? I'm trying to decide which lever will give the best feel with a slightly shorter, more accurate throw without being too expensive or extremely difficult to install.

To be honest, I'm actually kinda getting sick of it. After driving cars with a proper SSK(ie-the UUC whatchmacallit)that are short while being smooth and stock feeling, I almost want something else. The lever is a breeze to install, but if I did it again I'd probably go with the z3 2.5 or the M Roadster lever. The z4 3.0 is very notchy, and at times can be an annoyance. But overall, I've gotten used to it and it's definitely an improvement over the stock "truck" lever.

Nice interior too, very good nic... as for the shifter decision, I also run the Z4 3.0L shifter and while there is no denying it's a notchy unit, it's much better than stock that's for sure... It is slightly annoying when you just want to drive from A to B but when you go on a "drive" it's such a great shifter to have IMHO.

well you definitely can't beat the bang for buck ratio, I got mine for $35 shipped and it took all of 15 minutes to install.

Those wheels are awesome man! How have you done that? (Sandblasting and Powdercoating?)

Are those original 15" BMW-BBS Wheels for the e30 7J wide and et24 ?

What is involved with the installation? BMA has a z3 2.5 kit that also comes with new bushings for $70, and my stock shifter doesn't like fast 1-2 shifts because the bushes are shot...

All I have to say is that your car is a beauty.

That red shines so brightly.
