Title: Key getting hot in ignition

I have noticed that my key is getting hot when its in the ignition and the ignition switch also gets hot is this a common prob? what could cause this? any help would be great...

Never heard of this. Generally it is just the sun shining on it and the driver not noticing. Could be a short in something, though.

If there was a short something wouldn't work or the guy and his car would be on fire by now. :)
It's definitely deh sun. :p

Hey, iy could be voltage regulator... My jag used to do that .... thought i was crazy till one day it burned off my fingerprints
