Title: Rear wheels cambering

This is my first time posting here.

I purchased a 1991 318is and the one thing that is really bothering me is the appearance of the back wheels. They look very slanted. The rear suspension is a bit soft and I'm assuming the wheels are cambering because of it.

Someone had told me that the older bimmers had slightly slanted outward back wheels. Is this true?

I'm going to take the car in for an aligment and see if they can make any adjustments.

The rears have 1-2 degrees of negative camber and no adjustment. You can adjust the rear with aftermarket parts such as trailing arm bushings and welding in altered mounts.

if the car has very high mileage, the rear suspension will begin to sag.  Thats what happened to my 325e.  My rear tires on that car never lasted more than 10k miles, while the fronts would last over 20k.  Check the rear subframe bushings.

Mine was starting to sag.  After the trailing arm bushing change and sub frame it sits nicely.  Have fun!

Thanks alot guys. The rear suspension is a bit soft.

I'll swap the necessary parts and see how she sits!
