Hello everyone, my name is Martin I'm from Lithuania and this is my and my car's story:
A few years ago after getting my drivers license, and driving for a while in a 88' Mk2 Golf 1.6 Diesel (the place I worked for the summer gave it to me as a daily driver), I decided it was time to get my own car…
After intensive thought and research I came to the conclusion that BMW e30 318is is the car to go for…
Alas, things don't always happen as they where planned, so my first car ended up to be a 87' e30 324d :D
It was fun to drive, and despite being almost as old as me it still had that BMW spirit left in it… The problem was it was rusty, and at the time I didn't have the knowhow/will to restore/keep it, so shortly after a few accidents (some guy rear ended me, then a trailer bent the trunk lid, then i broke the oilpan by hitting a sidewalk) I decided to get rid of it…
But again luck wasn't on my side, and this time I ended up with a 96' 318i
It's a hard subject for me to talk about, but I will tell that, despite having the money for a e30 318is, support from the family on this matter was one thing I didn't have…
So this is my story, I hope you haven't fallen asleep yet as the fun stuff is only beginning ;)

Well that's my story thus far, although I'm not a full-fledged M42club member as my car technically has a M43 engine, I hope you will accept me as equal, and follow me on my quest to build the ultimate bmw 4 banger ;)

That's a cool color in that E36. How's it handle with the new suspension?

It's hard to describe, a bit mushy on the straight and driving over very light potholes, but firm on bigger potholes. (the springs are linear which makes it even more difficult to describe the progressive feeling, maybe the shocks are to blame for this)
All in all it's great compared to the crappy lowering springs that where on here, the cornering is very precise, but the suspension really shines when you push her
Although roll hasn't changed that much, the biggest difference in roll was when I put some Dunlop Sport "extra load" rated tires on there
Guess some performance sway bars would make it a killer ride
P.S. Attached is a photo of new wheels and tires (taken with a phone)

Looks nice. Good to see some more e36ers joining the club.
