Hey all you guys out there that are running boost on your m42 what are you running to control the idle and how is it routed ? and what kind of PCV system are you running , if its stock do you have any picks how you routed the piping to make the stock PCV valve to work ?
-
I have kept the original idle control valve.
it is now controlled via a new ECU (wolf3D)
the idle control valve sits in it original position, so the original hose from
the manifold connects to the valve, then another hose connects the
valve to the manifold before the throttle body. i have taken this hose off the manifold and simply put an
air filter on it and then blocked off the manifold side.
what do you mean by PCV system?
-
thats sounds good, but my AFM is right next to the TB and the turbo is blowin through it , and i dont have a place to run the hose from the ICV to after the AFM so the car idles throght the TB screw . How that replacement ECU workin for you ? is it a standalone and what turbo you using and what numbers you puttin down ?

Positive Crankcase Ventilation. M42's have a partial PCV system. The line from the valve cover to the throttle body sucks a vacuum on the crankcase and takes in the blow by. There is no fresh air intake.

Positive Crankcase Ventilation: where the hose was connected to the manifold i blocked off the hole and then installed a oil catch instead.
The computer is a stand alone one yes.
It was a bit of a pain to get the car running and setup at first but
now its great.
im using a Garrett GT2871R at 20psi
the car makes 213rwkw
