Notice the rust hole by the accelerator pedal, and the one on the passenger side under the heater box.

The one on the passenger side is a result of the A/C drain dripping on the 'bolt' that sticks out of the sheet metal to hold the sound deadener on. Now I'll have to check mine, which won't be so easy... :(

God i want to do this to my car and redo every wire and take out what i don't need!

I dunno if that's really worth the effort - the complete harness, minus all the stuff that's removable at connectors, weighs in at roughly 34 pounds.

I gutted my 325i to remove all the sound deadening tar. It wasnt that naked but pretty close. Puttin it back together is the hard part.
I havent seen rust on my last 2 e30s(need to check my 318) in the spots you've mentioned. I'd imagine it would be a common area though.
Just for the record. Its really not much louder in the car with all the deadening removed.
Is that car on its way out? last horahh before the scrape heap.

It looks just as mine at the moment...
I've got much more rust inside... But there are no holes at all...
I'm curious how long will it take to put it all back together. ;)

This one won't be going back together.
