I have recently had my brake fluid changed in my 318IS, I believe it was replaced with DOT5 fluid, somehow I seem to recall that the M42 uses DOT 4, could I have any problems with the DOT 5 fluid, the guy that replaced it says it does not make any difference?.

I doubt he used DOT 5, that's a silicone based fluid, specialty stuff. Maybe DOT 5.1? If it's DOT 5.1, that'll be fine. It exceeds the specs for 4 and is fully compatible.

probably he meant he used 5.1, I will ask him, thanks for the input
