Title: Has anyone got the wrong oil filter housing?

My car is an e30 and it has what I think is the the M44 one? Anything to worry about here?

there was a changeover mid-year, some have plastic, some metal. Makes getting the right filter a bit of a pain, as they're slightly different. Take a look at realoem.com and you'll see. Is that what you're referring to?

I have a '95 E36 318IS that take a 96+ filter..

Bet that was a pita first time you went to change the oil:mad:
