I have some experience but not with BMW's. I'm currently trying to find a decent motronic editor that is user friendly for the M42 ecu's. So far, I've only been able to find 1 motronic editor but it cost some $ and isn't M42 specific. You are corect in the 27SF512 type chip.

Based on your sig, I'm assuming you're looking for something like Crome?

There is no stock bin that I'm aware of.

What do you hope to accomplish that wouldn't already be possible by dropping in one of my chips?

It's plug-n-drive!   :)

I already have one of your chips. ;) I'm just looking to do some funky custom setups.
