number 10... I didnt realize that number 11 had a nut (number 12) on the opposite side... if I just loosen 12 and pull 10 away from the gears, it should free it up to move right?
You just saved me a whole bunch of trouble D, thanks! Now I gotta take off the other belts again to get that one free... doh! lol

Most people make the mistake of not loosening the rear nut before they attempt to turn the front nut. This is what strips the gears in the first place. You will probably have to get a new front nut.

thats probably what happened, and probably what I would have done anyways if the thing wasnt already stripped... doh. Where can I get that front nut? REALOEM says its not available.

If u have it Ill take it, lemme know!

To remove the belt, loosen the nut and pry the alternator with a pry bar. Then change the gear nut.

thanks guys. I love this forum... heh

i don't think you stripped the bolt with the teeth. the rail is more likley to strip for sure!
