Well this morning at 5am left with my buddy to get my new daily driver 3 hours south. Got the car and came back zero issues. Think I ended up with a decent deal. $1500 bucks, from what I can tell a lot of people pay more for cars with rust or other issues. ZERO rust, super clean underbody. Only negitive is no LSD like seller thought it had (not an issue until winter, will get one in then). It needs new pads/rotors and some fluids and I need to replace the SI batteries, and a piece of weatherstripping and I'm good to go. Hell the R12 A/C even still blows cold! Interior just needs good cleaning, the sport seats have a couple very small tears that could be stiched up but even so not ratty looking at all.
It rolled over 160000 miles on way home. I'm pretty happy. Gotta get use to the lack of torque compared to a M20 N/A (and definately way way less then my Turbo car) but still was fun enough.

Does anybody know if they had heated seats as option for the 318is? That is about the only major thing I would like to transplat in for winter other then a LSD.

Not that I recall...they either came with regular cloth seats or "pleather"
You can easily hook it up though.
Great looking car!

Yeah the "pleather" isn't bad. cloth might be a little more practical but at least I got A/C now so I'll deal. I just have to avoid the tempation to mod things. I already have the turbo car which presents enough issues (tho it would be so easy to make a nice twin scroll turbo setup for this engine just to pep it up to around 170-180rwhp).
So for I ordered new rotors and reasonable pads for the car (first time I haven't gotten full race pads in ages). Trying to decide if I just put stock motor/tranny mounts in or pop in poly as I like them a lot more and would never need to worry about them again.

i pretty sure the convertible M42's had heated sport seats as an option, actually i know for sure that they had it as an option.
very nice looking car for $1500! hopefully you have fun with it!

Wow!! for $250, that looks like a great deal. Around the indy area, that car would go for around $4500 to the right buyer. Looks like a great find :)

So I have fixed most of the little issues. Blower now works all 4 settings. Grounding issues also seemed to be solved (somehow weirdly it was the blower switch causing all that).
Have ordered new rotors, pads, motor mounts, tranny mounts, oil filters, air filter, t-stat, radiator cap, and a couple other minorthings totaling about 265 bucks shipped. Then I should be good to go.
Put in new plugs and a bottle of Techron and its running a lot better as I've been reving it a bit more. Compression check showed 210-220psi on all 4 hot. From what I can tell that is pretty healthy for 160K miles

I have a 1991 318is with heated seats.

Congrats on your car!
Great deal I think ;)
