I read about some guys w/ 325's swapping their m20afm's for m30 afm's to get more power w/ the m30 afm's larger bore. they switched out the circuitry boards in them to get them to work for their cars ecu so that the electronics would still be the same. would this work with the m42's afm? just switch the boards and then kinda tune it as you go? anyone try it or think about it yet?

perhaps maybe an afm from another bmw 4-cylinder w/ larger bore? anyone have any ideas?

Itīs possible to run a M30 AFM, you just need to change the plug on the harness, not a big deal with a soldering iron,
But you will need to adjust is somewhat

The mod would be pointless on the M42. The stock sensor flows plenty for the M42. Now, converting to a MAF would provide improved drivability.

I agree. It is actually the same size sensor as used on the M20 and S14 motors.
