I want to purchase a new steering wheel for my 91 318is. I like the mtec 1, here is why I want to repalce the wheel in the first place. I dont like the way the OEM wheel is angled. Is a new wheel going to change the tilt at all? If not, what could i do to change the tilt of the wheel> new hub I am clueless:confused:

You can’t change the angle of the steering wheel on an E30. And a new steering wheel can’t change the angle either. I like where its located. Why don’t you like where it is?

Maybe you could hide a late model tilt column under the E30 trim or something along those lines.

Or alternatively perhaps look at changing your seating position, angle, etc. Unfortunately the exception of adjustable steering columns makes it hard to change the angle of the steering wheels in our cars so that is probably your easiest way around it.
Cheers,
Pete

I simply used an adapter and pushed the wheel out towards me. Mind you both the wheel and hub used are aftermarket. Makes for a nice ingredient in the whole "seating position" tweaking process.
I for one wouldn't like to mess with making a tilt mechanism for a daily driven car. The whole column is designed to react a certain way on impact preventing injury upon collision.

Thanks for your help gents !
