Well since we have T-shirts and stickers (which I'm planing on buying soon) I think we should brainstorm some more ideas for other things. I think a Lanyard would be prettysweet with the club website on it or something like that. Just give me your imput on what you think.

how about one of those imprinted USB keychains with all our tech docs etc on it?
-
Could setup a store on cafepress.com...then we could all buy the m42club pillows for our back seats ;)

Wow sam, that is a great idea, thats just not a hat rack above ur shoulders there.
-
Key chains just make sense. I am a newbie to the forum, but i would jump on something i'd see everyday when i put my key into the ignition...
-
Yea, I like the keychain idea too

it holds like, coats too... [bastard!]

I'm thinking polished steel?
that'd be nice, don't know what it would cost though.
-
Polished steel? How heavy would that be?
What about an easy one to "buy into": military style dogtag that you can get imprinted with the club name/web address, then each member could put their year make/model (duh - 1991 BMW 318iS) and screen name/stupid saying or something?

Heres my take on the dogtags, which i find a quite economic idea.
I am a sucker for black and white, but its just an idea.

I think these designs would have to be single color, line drawings only.
I think there would be copyright issues using the BMW logo.
One way around that (since we all know we drive BMWs) is to use a line drawing of the E30 and the tag "E30" or "318IS" on one side with "M42CLUB.com" and your screen name and maybe member number XXXX on the other side. Maybe folks with E36s can have one with their correct car too.
-
i feel you on the copyright issue, however, we arent making money off of them? i dont know how its going to be done, but i thought they were just membership reminders or some such, doesnt mean there has to be a profit to be made.
maybe if we made them ourselves, seems like too much work.
Come up with a rough design, visual.

im in desperate need of more keychains.

Too busy in the center.

Make it M42Club.com on the bottom of the same ring that the 'BMW' is on, and slightly enlarge and center the 'Home of.." part.

I don't really like the key chain that much, I don't like extra clutter. A lanyard would be cool because it would be practical for me to use.
On another note I don't think there is enough interest to bring back the shirts for a re-print this fall, so I will probably wait until end of the winter to do it again. However, if enough people want them I can do another run in the fall. So if you see this and are interested PM me.
