Title: Installing the timing chain ...
Post by: ZeroG on April 15, 2007, 09:15:18 PM
I was doing a head removal on my 318 and a buddy of mine said that it is important that I keep the timing chain on the crank sprocket.  So I had it suspended by a bungee cord, and I accidently knocked it and the chain came right off the sprocket.

Is there a special proceedure of putting back on?

I still have the cam sprockets attached.  To ease the install I zip-tied them to the chain in postition before I took them off.
