Got the tails yesterday! I started prep work for install today. Removed the original tails and the plate filler. The filler was already starting to fade so I painted it.
The box is pretty cool. Can't make out the writing on the side but why would it end with Prost! I will post updates. BTW, side skirts will be here Wednesday.
Notice the spoiler-less trunk?
-
Putting a euro plate filler in??
-
Nah, staying with the US. I like how it fills the void. I also cut and raised the tag up to blend with the bottom line of the filler.
-
Brand new MHW's... now that's business.
btw, prost apparently means cheers.
-
Brand new! Yeah, that hurt but I had no luck with used and I would feel bad if I was forced to borrow them off asubimmers! LOL:D
Why would Prost be there  !
-
Hey your an asshole!
-
My German is rusty, but doesn't it say something to the effect of "Please have 8 Bitburgers before starting installation. Cheers!"?
Bitburger is a brand of beer.

I hear that from my wife every time a package for the car arrives.

Oh well, if I must I MUST. BTW ak, how you liking the BB exhaust and did the sound get louder?
-
How much were they? Very nice, btw. :)

I love it, although I am still futzing with some fitment issues. It would seem that the pipe coming out of my cat was 'tweaked' at some point, so it throws off the alignment of the whole system. It's not all the time, but I occasionally get some vibration as the pipe hits the rear valance, and the shop I took it to wasn't able to get the pipe centered any more than it is without major work. I think I'm going to just open up the exhaust spot on the valance a little.

hmmm...looks p-shoped to me. Anyhow, nice lights. Unforthunatly, those are illegal here. (no modification of OEM lights permitted)
-
Where is "here"?
-
Nice. You got baller status now. ;)

Yeah but so is half the other stuff people do to their cars here. I'm just glad I don't live in Cali. Going over 55mph around here is illegal too but...
-
ok um did you mount them already? it's like 8 bolts get to it. ;)
-
Yes, I finally mounted them. With the part time job (to fund the addictiction) I don't have much time.
I did it in phases.
Phase 1 - clean the openings
Phase 2 - find black vinyl. I used this because the opening between the lense and tag filler was wide enough to see alpine white.
Phase 3 - paint the tag filler. It was already fading from FL sun.
Phase 4 - apply black vinyl. The secret is to get it misted and wet.
Phase 5 - cut the tag. So the tag did not extend below the tag filler. I cut, folded and drilled it. Now the tag rides about 8mm higher.
Phase 6 - Becks
Phase 7 - Install.
PICS to FOLLOW The lighting was too low to get a clear pic. I will take one tomorrow and post. For now here is a in progress shot with good sunlight.

Sounds doable. What if you "designed" a collar and fit it into the exhaust spot?
Thinking the exhaust is my next addition. Is it loud? I have a check engine light at idle. Maybe an O2 sensor? If I replace the exhaust, will I or can I eliminate some of the sensors?
-
Here are a couple of shots. I lighten all except one. The black vinyl tape between the lense and tag filler really made a diff,

Busted!
So even if the MHW is "OEM" you guys still can't do it?
-
Here as in Quebec (Canada). The police are very anal about modified (smoked) side markers and lights. If you go by a police you can lower your speed but you can't hide your lights. But those really look nice ;) I might bite the bullet and get some :D
-
so it was just ahoax?
either way that looks great, i wish my us bumper filler looked new like that. i'll just have to paint it :D
-
Thanks! I like them but biting that bullet was painful. I was going to paint-smoke a set and may still do it for fun later. I am not too hopeful that paint will hold up for long in this sun light.
LOL! Its funny. I can do the smoked lenses but rarely get to do greater than 55 because of all the traffic! Go figure.
BTW, they would look amazing on your car!
-
the smokes look cool...if u dont mind how much are they?....

Thanks.
I got them from Andy Lund at bavauto.com . They were about $379.00 and they have them in stock. Great service! I have heard a rumor that MHW will not be available in the future.
If thats your car in the avatar, the MHWs would kick a$$.

Thanks. I used the Trim paint. It seems to adhere better to the "plastics."
Yeah, the box label/tag was a hoax. But I thought you would be the crowd to appreciate it.:D
-
I'm getting those as soon as my car get's back from the body shop! They look great!!!!!!!!!
-
Thanks man!
Hows your car doing BTW? If you are going to get MHWs def give Andy Lund a call at BavAuto. He has an E30. Pretty knowledgeable guy. I found a couple sets of the MHWs but they were about 20 bucks more. Keep us posted on the progress.

It's going in the shop this week, my buddy's coming to get it with his roll-back.
