Title: angel eyes ccfl
Post by: jfdublyu on April 03, 2006, 09:53:18 PM
so i just bought some super bright ccfl angel eyes (on the way). i was wondering on any suggestions on wiring locations. fog lights? parking lights? I would really like to be able to turn the angel eyes on and off independantly from all other lights, but that would require a switch and through the firewall wiring. i really wouldn't mind doing that too much, but what about a power source? any suggestions with wire color codes would be even better, thanks!

You're going to have to sacrifice something here to get what you want.  You can either piggyback off of the fogs or parking lamps, or you can run a new circuit and have full independance.

The easiest would be to hack into the side marker lights, like what you would do if you were going to hook up a set of euro city lights.

I don't think you're going to find much in the way of tech support for angel eyes, since it's not terribly common on e30's.  Whatever floats your boat though.

I wired my citi lights to my stereo's power wire, since i had to run a wire for my fan switch there anyways

Where are the angel eyes going to be mounted on the headlights? How are you going to protect them?

It may look a bit awkward since angel eyes on other cars have a plastic lens/housing covering them.

GL with install, maybe pics will change my mind...
