Title: Stroker questions
Post by: vjlax18 on April 09, 2007, 11:48:00 AM
I did some searching around, but really didn't find many answers.

S52 pistons will fit?  I can get forged S52 pistons cheap, but I read somewhere that they drop the compression.  I want higher compression.

I'd like to keep the stock crank, it's forged IIRC and don't feel like spending more money on the M47.

M44 rods are the same length as M42 but a little lighter (although now are the same p/n in the ETK).  How about the S50/2 rods?

I'd like to build a stroker and I'll use quality parts, but I do not want to spend any money on the motor... I know I will though.

You can't really stroke the engine without changing the crank...

you cant stroke the engine at all without changing the crank. putting larger pistons in will be boring the engine...

I knew that, just wasn't thinking. lol

Ok, so what's needed to up the compression and use S52 pistons, etc?

Also, how about the lifters/springs/etc from the S50/2's?  I've seen a little talk of it, but nothing final.

To up the compression you need higher compression pistons. If the S52 end up lowering the compression then you'll have to use other pistons. Check JE pistons or Metric Mechanic.
