Title: Difficult to get into gear
Post by: badboypolar on April 07, 2007, 10:25:39 PM
It is really difficult to get into any gear. 1st is really difficult, 2nd is damn near impossible. This is after my rebuild of the motor and I've replace the clutch slave. Is it that I just have air in the system or is my throw our bearing bad. Once it is in gear it runs fine.

I rebleed the system and the fluid is coming out clear with no air bubbles. The clutch is very easy to push in.

if you can double clutch into 2nd without difficulty (i am betting you can) ... then bleed the system again

The same thing happened to me when I replaced my slave. Having not bled a clutch before I first tried doing it with the car off, and I could get the fluid without bubbles, but I could never get the stiffness back in the clutch. I did it with the car running and it again bled well, but afterwards the pedal was nice and stiff. I'm sure thats probably what you did, so I'm sure none of this helps. haha.

Well I found the problem, the B&M short shifter I installed during the rebuild had slipped up and out of the holder and the selector rod was binding againest it. I forgot to install the clip on the bottom to hold it in place. Doh!
