We should set up a meeting place before hand and all drive into the fairgrounds together.   That way we all get a spot next to each other.  If you have a shirt, wear it!

How about Baldwin Rd. the street just north of Calle Real? Looks to be a residential area.

We'll have to establish a time as well.

From what I've learned over the years, it's safe to get there earlier to guarantee a spot on the grounds. The sooner we get there, the better.

Shall we shoot for 9AM? It'll give us a cushion in case some people run late.

I don't think they'll let people in until 9. However, I could be wrong. It'll be my first time.

There will probably be a line of cars at the entrance.  Let me talk to my friends that have been to see how it goes down.

I am not a 100% sure I will go but I want to and am planning to. I am in the sacramento area.

When is the last date to register?

Post by: jpod999 on April 18, 2007, 10:47:50 AM
You don't have to register.  The registering is only so they know about how many people will be going and in what cars.

Edit:  I talked to a Bimmerfest veteran and they said the gate is pandamonium.  I think we should try to get there as early as possible.  Where we all meeting up?

Ok so i found a spot, its directly on the opposite side of 101 from Bimmerfest [fairgrounds]. It looks like a shopping center.

Heading north on 101, exit Calle Real, go left over freeway on Las Positas. Immeadiately after crossing over freeway turn right into a shopping center. We can meet there. If you hit modoc rd. you went too far. What do you guys think? If this spot doesn't work, there is a highschool a few blocks away too and I can get directions there too if we decide that will work better.

So we should meet at like 7:30 so that we can get into the gate asap.

P.S. check it out on google's satellite/hybrid view. you'll know what i'm talking about.

Man, I registered and I am still planning to head for Bimmerfest but for some reason I thought Santa Barbara was closer to Sacramento. It's almost by LA!! We'll see.
Title: Try Lompoc if you can't find lodging in SB.
Post by: G-Man on April 28, 2007, 10:06:20 AM
You'll never find a hotel room in Santa Barbara this late in the game unless you have real deep pockets. For BF attendees who are starting to panic because you can't find a place to stay in SB without taking out a bank loan to pay SB lodging rates. May I suggest that you try Lompoc in North Santa Barbara county. Lompoc is only 45 minutes away from SB, it has a Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Days Inn, Quality Inn and a few other motels. Lompoc is on Hwy 1 so its a short beautiful drive down to SB and rates are much cheaper than SB. Another suggestion is Beullton, you can stay in the inn made famous in the movie Sideways.

its about 7 hours away going 70-75mph i have done it in six and a half once but that was in the middle of the night. oh and if you go, take 101 its less boring than 5 and only takes about 30min more.

In the email sent out by Bimmerfest today, they said not to line up at the gate.  So what if we met up at the aforementioned place at 8:30?

Well that was fun seeing Christoph and Eurospec(briefly).  Eurospec, when you walked up to me and said hi I was like, "uh oh, did I completely forget who this guy is?"  And then you said who you were.  It surprised me at the number of E30 318i/s's there were.
Title: T-Shirt Question???
Post by: ZeroG on May 06, 2007, 09:02:18 PM
I saw this chic crusing around with this T-Shirt that said on the front: "I am only with my boyfriend". and on the back it said: "For his M42".

It was so awesome, now where do I get one?
