i am currently running e30(M40) and would like to drop a m42 from a e36..has anyone done this b4?can someone help me with the wiring that i need to mate with my m40..

I would imagine this would be the same for any swap... you will most likely need:
M42 engine
all fuel rail parts
ECU, coil pack
etc.

bring with you your ews pack yellow top,silver body, reciever box, black with two green wires connecting to the antennae for the ews key which you also need......after that the whole engine harness, 3 relays, dme , and a very good wiring man put everything back....i finally got my car back so good luck!!!m40-m42 e36 ews2 swap!Good luck!!oiiii hidup malatbimmer!!!

U'll need the full wire harness from the E36 as well...
Any competent mechanic should be able to mate the 2 sets of wire harnesses..

thanks for the info and i dont think ill be getting the ews wiring.....
