Title: s4.10 ?

got the tag off my diff it says s4.10. i know its a 4.10 but how do i tell if its a lsd on the e30? i dont have a jack at this time(dont ask) and i cant jack the girl up to check with the wheels off the ground?

i did search and found little.

The "s" means lsd, a 4.10 by itself on the tag means it's an open diff.

Do a burn out... If both tires leave marks it’s an LSD. :D

you can also look on the underside of the diff for a painted on "S" which is usually covered by road grime.

I thought the S was painted on the top of it.  If it is you wont be able to see it if its installed  Theres also a S on the TAG.

awsome. i got this car from a junk yard intaked. it is missing the alt and intake tube. it runs and idles(with the mafs taped to the t/b and a good batt) it has working a/c and lsd cant ask for anything better.
