Title: Tps
Post by: asubimmer on March 20, 2007, 11:44:45 PM
I heard rumors that the m50 had a variable (%) TPS and that the m42 had one also.  Can anyone confim or prove this wrong?

TIA

Yes, the M42 uses a potentiometer, not a switch.

its a %, unlike the m20 which is a switch.  off, partial throttle, and full throttle iirc.

I ran an ohm meter on my M20 TPS and can tell you it's a simple switch.  I ended up taking the TPS from the M42 TB and customizing the the M20 TB.

If you measure the M42 TPS you'll notice that it's resistance (Ohm) rises smoothly as you open the flap door.
