Title: should i use these?
Post by: mooninite on March 11, 2007, 12:54:36 PM
when i first bought my 318is i found some racing dynamics springs and shot to shit bilstens in the trunk. i plan to order new sport shocks and struts but should i use these springs? http://www.racdyn-usa.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=196.03.30.016&Category_Code=e30sus
this is my daily driver and i dont mind a rough ride that much but im worried about how low it sits.

I'd suggest keeping the springs and just replace the dampers. Springs don't tend to give much trouble.

You will possibly find that the front is very low. This will give you more negative camber which will give you a more vague straight ahead steering but better grip and feedback under roll. You will also prematurely wear the inside of the tyres. There is also a chance of more suspension bottom-outs. Cafr will look good though!

I had a similar drop on H&Rs and wasn't happy with the balance and replaced them with H&R's 0.5" taller (one coil). The neutralised the car better on track.

I'd suggest fitting the RDs with 10mm 325iX bottom springs pads and trying them out. You might find that you will be very happy!
