No, not that, this!
I am loving it! Def got some wear but will clean up nicely. Came off a Merc straight from the fatherland, I think circa 1990. If so then it is a "perfect" match for the 91.
-
NICE! I picked up a preunion german plate that used to be on a white e30 like mine. I even have the title ;)
I just run mine in the back w/ the euro plate filler b/c its soo pimp
-
You got the find!
Great idea!
Too late, I put the US tag filler on.
-
This was off my grandfather's E21. Car was from Koln. My E30 was actually made 90/08. :D
-
VERY KOOL! Is the year above the month?
Hey, you want a US plate?
-
These are so called "red numbers" which basically means that they are temperary plates usually used for short periods of times. I have two sets from when i picked up the 318is and the M3. I think mine had a validity of 14 days. The numbers in the red field has to do with the expirey.
-
That is great. Your temps are better than ours. We use paper in Florida. So if my numbers are 90-10, what is the length of time they could be used?
-
I'm not sure, i think it might me expirey month..
Attached is an image of my M3 plate, it's got 3 numbers for expirey (05/02/04)

I usually don't see this style. It'll look great.
I saw this plate at a meet recently and I'm trying to figure out if it's in fact original. The flag along with letter/numbers were stamped. First time I've seen one like it. I want one bad.

The plate with the "Y" is German Army - Bundeswehr.

The plates with the red box are export plates and used to be the oval ones.

Sorry, no. I grew up in Germany during the cold war and remember seeing those "Y" plates everywhere. Lived in Berlin for a while too and saw many of the oval plates, although at the time I was told they were "international" plates and had something to do with diplomats.

I want to buy one of the German plates with the Blue strip on the left. That is much cooler than my red temporary plate.
