Title: off idle stumble
Post by: redhead on February 14, 2007, 09:20:29 PM
Hi gang,

When I just blip the throttle a crack and then release it the engine stumbles for a split second. If I don't release the throttle the engine will rev up as normal. Any ideas wht this might be?

TIA,
Gene

Could be your Idle Control Valve, try cleaning it.  Or could be a vacuum leak.

This sounds pretty normal.  A lot of it has to do with the stock air flow meter.  It has a moving flapper door inside, and is subject to inertial forces.  Simply put, blipping the throttle gets it bouncing a little, and that confuses your ECU.  Long story short, it is pretty normal.
