pretty ez except:

remove the:

- e-brake console (10mm plastic nut by the rear ashtray)
- e-brake cover
- shift boot (just go upskirt on it!)
- center console is held in by plastic screws way up in the footwells, philips screws by the shifter and up under the heater controls
- then, carefully work it free (its 16 y/o foam, so it's brittle

regards the carpet, you'll find it goes under the heater stuff. most people cut it out but I think denis (dude8383) was able to free his.

finally, if you snap the center console in half, our SRS cars have a slightly different console than non SRS e30s... they don't fit without some cutting/prodding.

THX!  I hope I don't snap anything.  I was actually just going to leave the carpet in the car and VHT it.
