Title: Idea involving a concealed cone filter...
Post by: GrippyDrifty on March 27, 2006, 05:15:44 PM
I'm not in front of my car, but could it be possible to retrofit a cone filter inside the airbox? These days a lot of people are getting their hoods popped oped(IN CA) by cops; are checking for illegal things (ie:cone filters). So, I think one can have the cone filter guarded from hot engine air, and obtain the benefits from a CAI, without getting harassed by cops. Another thing one could do, is drill holes underneath the box for additional airflow. What do you guys think?

Ha! For all I know someone on here is a cop!! Well, still...

hey, check your private messages ...and resize your sig!

there is already a thread about drilling the airbox (http://m42club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93),

and quite frankly, the gains of a cone filter vs. the panel filter and stock airbox are minimal... although that didn't stop me!

Drilling sounds like the way to go!
