Hello,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone’s had the issue of having a high pitched noise come from the front of the car , it only happens when I’m doing about 65 to 70 in 5th gear rpms at about 3000, I tried to duplicate the sound with the car in 4th gear but i don’t hear the sound. When I press the clutch pedal in the sound goes away and when I let off the accelerator pedal the sound goes away. The car in question is a 1991 bmw 318is I don’t know the age of the clutch or any bearings under the hood I put a new belt on the power steering pump and changed the alternator for an unrelated issue to the sound. I’m going to change the diff fluid this weekend for a scheduled maintenance.
Thank you,

Might want to check your driveshaft center support bearing while you're under there.

something tells me that your clutch release bearing (throwout bearing) is starting to go out.
