Hi Guys,
My mechanic for my E46 mentioned today that if you have a dual-mass flywheel, you often have to replace the flywheel at the same time the clutch is replaced...
Not sure if there's any truth to that with M42s... sounds a bit weird to me...
Any experiences with this?
Cheers.

Technically he's correct, and I've seen that advice before but it should not come into play unless the flywheel is damaged.
BMW also advises that when rebuilding your M20 cylinder head you should replace your valves with valves having thicker stems vs replacing the valve guides.

Sounds like a good excuse to go to a lighter weight flywheel.
