Hello, my name is Alexandru, and i am from Romania.
I am bulding an M42 Turbo , for my daily drive E36 316TI ( Compact ):
Engine:
-m43b16 block - it has oil squirts;
-m42 front timing case, oil pump etc.
-E46 M47 150hp diesel crankshaft - because is forged.
-stock M42 Pistons.
-rods i don't know what to use , for a good CR ratio ?!?
- stock head gasket
- ported head with new valves , stock camshafts, hidro tapets maybe from VAG.
Turbo:
- i like to use an TD04-11G from an 525TDS Engine. I don't know if it's a good option or not , but their are very cheap in our contry , like 50$.
Drivetrain:
- M43 single mass flywheel lightened
- e90 2.0D M47 163HP - clutch
- M42 pressure plate
- e90/e46 2.0D M47 - 6 Speed manual gearbox.
- 3.38 rear diff.
Electronics:
- stock m42 ECU with piggyback from ECU Master : Digital Ecu Tuner 3
- afr from PLX : SM-AFR WIDEBAND DM-6 GAUGE COMBO (GEN4)
- OIL Pressure, Water Temp Gauges from Greddy.
- M42 stock AFM is good or bad ? is should be before turbo or after ?
Will this setup i hope i will run 0.6-0.8 bar boost pressure , but i don't know what kind of power i will make.
Some opinions ?
