Hello Everybody This is my first post ever on m42club. I have a 91 318is and have a love-hate relationship with it, but the love dominates the hate for this car. anyway this is more of my cars introduction than mine LoL so everyone here is David my E30!!

Now I know it is not much its been a long 6 months with this car, But soon he'll be like new. Does Run and Drive, but barley brakes lol.
Everybody meet David the E30

Welcome to the 'club! Nice Alpine! Looks really clean, what's wrong with the brakes?
I like those Panasport wheels you have mounted up. I've never seen them on an 80s bimmer - they look great. What size are they?
-
@desktopdave
For the brakes i did a lot lol new calipers fromt and back all new stainless steel braided lines, master cylinder and i still have to bleed them so the car kinda stops lol just got stressed cause of all the work. But the rims are a size 14 ik small but i like em PO put then on not me however
-
I hear you there, brakes are a pretty important thing! I use one of those Motive pressure bleeders along with a modified GM reservoir cap, they've save me a lot of work over the years.
The 14" tires are pretty modest these days, but I still run them myself. It is hard to find performance tires, but there are a lot of advantages. Taller tires 'feel' a lot better, new A/S tires are really cheap, and you can't beat our little wheels for weight.
Not to jack your thread, but...pressure bleeders aren't perfect...last time I managed to blow fluid all over the inner fender and booster. First the clutch feed line popped off, so I clamped it. Then the rear reservoir grommet failed! It's pretty old, likely original, couldn't hold 15psi any more. Just one of those days, eh? I thought to myself: "I'm batting 1000 so far...two for two!"
/threadjacking ;D
-
I feel ya except im not gonna pressure blead im just gonna use a bottle and a clear hose except i cantfind any that will fit my nipples
-
1/4" clear vinyl aquarium tubing should work in a pinch, although it won't last long with brake fluid. I've used soft vac line in a pinch. Windshield washer hose would do the job too. The thick-walled vinyl tubing is far better.
-
Well I have done A lot I mean a lot sense I last uploaded this lol anyway If any of you are interested here's what I've done. PLs let me know If any of you would like me to write up a how to on doing a m42 swap with another m42 lol

And then the dreadful Most horrifying terrible part.... This motor was hard to get in mainly because the engine was hitting the motor mounts on the frame so I had to take them out and move them out of the way...
