Title: accelerator cable grommet - MacGyver?

Does anyone have a MacGyver solution to my now broken accelerator cable grommet? I'm trying to avoid buying the entire assembly.

~$45 for a new dealer cable.  Easy to swap out.

When I bought my car it had the zip tie repair.  It works if you are in a bind.  Try McMaster for a new bushing...they have just about everything.

Some time ago I was able to buy just the grommet. Check realoem on E36 section too.

I've found some billet aluminum replacements, but they cost just as much as the cable assembly.  Thanks for the help!
