Hi guys!
I'm the proud owner of an E30 ph1 coupe with a 316 m10 spiced engine and a E36 ph1 coupe M42 318is.
I'm having trouble on the M42.
The engine feels hesitating when throttling at about 2000rpm.
What I feel is that when I speed up on the pedal, the answer of the engine isn't the same, it hesitates, like there's something pulling it from behind (I already checked twice and there isn't any sumo fighter in there ;D).
Replaced the fuel filter and the vacuum box on the intake for a very similar one (since our's no longer available and mine was wasted) and felt some improvements, but the hesitation is still there and is annoying me.
Any suggestions from de M42's gurus about what can be?
Thank you!

Guys, any help here?

Can you pull any error codes?

Check your fuel supply first, That has always been my M42s issue. It started to eat fuel pumps up FAST. Turned out to be loads of rust in my gas tank causing it, so check either of those.

I'd do a fuel pressure test and also a smoke test for manifold vacuum leaks. The rat's nest of preheater & icv hoses under the intake tend to leak at high mileage. Also check the crank position sensor for resistance.
