Title: Othatseric - Better late than never! First E30 purchase
Post by: othatseric on November 09, 2016, 06:22:07 PM
Hey ladies and gents!

hope all is well! Eric here and i've been recently creeping around forums like here and r3vlimited and I've been meaning to post a profile but the site wasn't jiving with my browser and email to make an account etc. Ill be honest here, I know very little about working on german cars let alone e30s. My family has always owned so kind of imported brand cars I'm probably most comfortable working with classic domestics so this is definitely going against the grain...  I just turned 21 this past july and myself along with some of my closest buddys pulled the trigger on a joint buy for a 1991 BMW 318i sedan at 2500$. As it stands, we basically don't know what to do with it. Something along the lines of a restomod-track-beater-daily car  Hopefully I'll get to meet some of you in future and thanks!

Welcome to the 'club! It's a bit quiet around here, hopefully a few other members will join in.

Your car is a virtual twin to mine, except for color. That looks like a really clean car!

The M42 isn't at it's best on the track, although the E30 chassis is delightful. Be sure to check the upper oil pan bolts and the cam gear teeth.
