Working on my son's 1991 318is, and it appears that the Dual Mass FW is worn/toast, as it easily moves back and forth. He's gone thru two clutch disc's, due to the non spring disk taking all the initial rotational stress, sheering the disc. Does anyone know if these can be rebuilt, and if not, I need to find a good used one....
In addition doing all the timing chain rails, head gasket, and all intake/vacuum/water hoses......

Why do you want a dual mass flywheel, everybody tries to get rid of that and go single mass or m20. I can't help you I'm in oz. just have a look around on this site and do that upgrade as it will probably last longer too.

If you're interested I have a stock M20 FW. Also have an extra M42 ring gear. You have options other than the stock dual mass like Rohan mentioned. I"m in NJ.

The Disc, PP and RB have less than 1000 miles on them. I'd prefer to remain with the DM FW for now, as I am sinking money in the car for the Timing Chain Rails, Hoses and Valve job.....

I have an e30 DMFW, clutch and pressure plate. Im on the fence with doing a new clutch& pressure plate with an M20 flywheel, but Im there with you.. Already sinking so much on the car, part of me just wants to use these.

My machinist had told me they figured out how to resurface the DM flywheels. They use some sort of an annular clamp to fix the plate, then skim it. As for a total rebuild, I have no idea. I've been lucky that mine has lasted.
As mentioned, you can find decent used flywheels on many other BMWs, among other makes. There are still a lot of 4-cyl E36 in the scrapyards up here...I'd bet you have a bunch down your way too.
