I know this may fall in the fringes of blasphemy...
Has anyone swapped out the m42 in the 318is and installed a m50?? Since my son now has a m3 he wants more out of the 318is!!!

Decisions, decisions, decisions! I still want an M3! Keep the 318is stock and use the money to restore, upgrade, and maintain the M3. You'll need it from what I hear. A lot of parts are pricey and M3 specific. Plus, you can put good tires on it and give the other BMW's hell on the track as a showroom stocker.

im not a big guy in swaping motors but i read this a while ago.....
