Title: Driveshaft needed for 02 m42 swap
Post by: Dmontes90 on August 04, 2016, 11:03:34 AM
Mornin' Gents,

i'm in the final stages of an m42 swap for my 02, redy to put the engine and trans in. however, i seem to have run into a bit of a problem. in all the write-ups and forums i've seen there's information on which driveshaft to use with an e30 trans, the one i have is an e36. i was wondering if anyone knows if there's much of a difference between the e30 and e36 drivshaft. or what i should use in my 02.

thanks alot.

I did the same swap and found an e30 driveshaft.  It is bolted to the e36 G250 though.  I'm not sure if the DS from an e36 would work but as long as it has the spline and is  adjustable then it should.

Don't the e36 G250's use the larger flex disk bolts??  Flex disk is same diameter, just the bolts are too large for the e30 driveshaft.
