Title: Conforti & Dinan chips for the m42
Post by: bflan2001 on February 17, 2016, 08:57:24 PM
I have two chips for sale, tested them both out to make sure they work. Selling the Dinan for 100 shipped, Conforti chip for SOLD. Conforti chip is the same as Turner Motorsports, they were Jim Conforti chips first.

Just did some searching is it true that the dinan has no rev limit?

Cheers Rohan

I was told it raises the limit to 7k. I didn't actually redline my car with the chip in, I just plugged it in and ran it to make sure it worked.

No there have been numerous examples of people Reving well over 7000 k with a dinan chip. So I have red anyway.

Dinan is known to be conservative in their approach, so I would doubt very much that they would remove the limiter.

In some cases Dinan parts were (are?) offered as upgrades without voiding the BMW factory warranty.  For the E30 M20 engine, the Dinan chip altered only the WOT map, not the part-throttle map.

I have two chips for sale, tested them both out to make sure they work. Selling the Dinan for 120 shipped, Conforti chip for 150 shipped. Conforti chip is the same as Turner Motorsports, they were Jim Conforti chips first.

I am interested in the Dinan chip, but do you know if it requires a particular type of fuel?  I can't really get anything above 91 around me and I don't really want to use additives every week.

Both chips should be run with 91 octane fuel. Again, this is just what I was told, but the person who gave me this info is a reliable source.

Conforti chip is sold, Dinan still available.

Confirmed by Dinan, this chip does not eliminate the redline, it raises it by 500 RPMs.
