Hi

Nice, what compression and how long are your inlet runners?

Cheers Rohan

Runners are pvc pipe starting with 385mm. And the compression is 12.1 most we could get with out getting serious

What rpm do you intend to turn? Those cams and intake have 8,500 written all over them, although the box looks a bit small

8500rpm is what we are hoping for but might be restricted because of the hydraulic lifters

Hi

Neat, what's the internal diameter of the pvc runners, have they been bell mouthed, trumpets?

Do you have the oringinal trumpets for those itbs? What's there internal diameter?

Cheers Rohan

Internal diameter of the runners is 50mm and made a spacer to make the air box bigger if needed out of a nylon chopping board. Because it's a rally engine we are going for response  rather than top end horsepower. Trumpets as you can see, not factory. Once we have found the best runner length we might have a go at making some tapered runners.

The second event after getting the new engine running still need to do exhaust as it is getting a lot of reversion with the factory exhaust at low revs

out of interest what gearbox and diff do you run? 3rd seems quite a step.

Engine sounds very nice though!

We are just using the standard gearbox with a 4.4 lsd but we have a 5.0 to go in it which should help

Getting the tune close, worked out that the runner length was critical for reversion after adjusting the length we found a sweet spot where it seems happy.

looks and sounds awesome, Any indications of power yet? How far off the final tune do you think you are

Tune is at about 80% , feels like a broad power band kennelly cam comes in at 5800 and it has another kick at 7200 tune lengths we think. Would guess more than 180hp wants to keep pulling to limiter of 8300

Now its moving! Did you change gear set/final drive? Looks like the package is really coming together.

Any plans for north island rallys?

Yeah we put the 5.0 crown wheel and pinion into the car and its getting alot closer to where we want it to be.

We went up and competed at the rallycross in tauranga earlier in the year. We would love to go up and do the Wairarapa rally one day.
